First solo exhibition in Sapporo
I'll do "Alien Child."
In 2020, the exhibition was held at IG Photo Gallery (Tokyo), then traveled to Hakodate and KG+2022 (Kyoto), and was given the opportunity to exhibit in Sapporo.
Looking back, I believe that I could never have achieved this alone.
I could not have done it without the friends, students, and supporters I have met through photography.
I am grateful.

I would like to make the most of the large space and height of the gallery this time.
We are aiming for something different from the way we have exhibited in the past.
Also, on July 16, I will have a talk session with fellow Hokkaido photographers Makiko Yamamoto and Tutumi Horiuchi at the gallery.

Mai Ito Exhibition "Alien Child"
I have a persistent sense of detachment of self-subjectivity from the body and mind.
There are times when I feel as if I am observing my life from the outside (detachment) or as if I am detached from the outside world (loss of sense of reality).
This was the reason why my classmates called me an "alien child" in elementary school, meaning that I was a mysterious child.
