Exhibition at KG+SQUARE

Mai Ito 【Slow Slow】

and

Exhibition at Bar GEAR

Fukue Etsuko & Mai Ito's exhibition 【MADO】

ended successfully on October 17.

Thank you very much for coming to our gallery.

We had a really happy time with your many cheers and support.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you.

The new work 【Slow Slow】 presented this time is

This is a self-portrait work.

I took this picture by hugging my precious person.

I believe that people live with anxiety and wounds.

When I noticed my friend's pain and anxiety, I felt that the more I tried to encourage her with words, the more I felt like I was getting away from the essence and the truth.

When I wondered what I, who was not involved in the situation, could do, I reflexively thought 【I want to hug them】.

“The body's reflexes that precede words”

It is a project that I began to photograph because I felt that there was something beautiful and fleeting about it.

By holding her, the sound of her heart soothes and

I take a slow breath.

I am trying to heal, but somehow it is the other way around.

This is a universal theme in our society and

I believe that it is a hint to create a society in which we can live comfortably.

I haven't been able to write a satisfactory statement for a long time.

I had prepared a poetic expression for the venue, but now that the exhibition is over, I believe I have been able to verbalize it.

I was very bad at verbalization and felt that speaking and conveying my actual thoughts did not go well.

People like me, who have unspoken thoughts, are using clumsy words and wondering if they were conveyed to the other person, I think that people like me, who have unspoken thoughts, live their lives groping to see if they are understood by others while using clumsy words.

It is very difficult to live with our thoughts and feelings, but we still want to connect with people in the hope that we can build a better relationship with them.

I hope you will continue to watch over this kind of Mai Ito.

I am still a young person, but I have the desire and determination to continue to convey something to you, and I would appreciate your kind support.

A Big Hug of many thoughts to all of you!

Thank you very much.
